Marousi – Small Hearts, Great Messages for Nature
An Educational Action of Gaiocardium with Children

In June 2026, Gaiocardium visited the 8th Primary School of Marousi, carrying out a special action dedicated to children and their relationship with nature.

The action was born from a simple idea: to give children the opportunity to express, in their own words, what protecting nature means to them.

Through art, wood and dialogue, the children were not simply spectators. They became creators and carriers of a message that concerns the future of us all.

Art Meets Education

For Gaiocardium, environmental awareness does not begin only with information and instructions.

It can begin with an image, a word, a feeling or an act of creation.

At the school, the children discovered the symbolic language of Gaiocardium through art and talked about trees, animals, forests and humanity’s relationship with the Earth.

Wood became the medium through which they could leave their own voice.

The Voices of the Children
❤️ The Wooden Hearts

The children created and wrote their own messages on red wooden hearts.
Each heart became a small message of love, care and protection for nature.
The heart, as a central symbol of Gaiocardium, thus acquired a new dimension: the voice of children.
The hearts were not simply objects.
They were small expressions of love for the Earth.

📖 The Wooden Pages

At the same time, the children wrote their own messages on wooden pieces approximately the size of an A5 page.
We call them “wooden pages”, because each one became like a small page of a book written by the children themselves.
On the natural surface of the wood, they expressed their thoughts, feelings and messages about nature and its future.
Thus, a different kind of book was created:
a book without paper, written on wood and through the voices of children.

When Children Speak for the Earth

Through the hearts and the wooden pages, the children expressed in their own way a truth that lies at the heart of Gaiocardium:
Nature is not something outside us. It is the world in which we live.
Their thoughts show that protecting nature does not always have to begin with great actions.
It can begin with a small heart.
With a word.
With a child’s message written on a piece of wood.
And perhaps, from there, the way we see the Earth can begin to change.

The Meaning of the Action

The action in Marousi is an important example of the educational dimension of Gaiocardium.
Here, art became a means of communication with children, rather than simply a finished result.
What mattered was not only what was created.
It was the process:
to observe, to think, to feel and to express themselves.
Because children are not simply the future.
They are already part of the Earth’s present.

An Action That Continues

The hearts and wooden pages created by the children have now become part of the story of Gaiocardium.

Every message is a small voice.

Every heart is an act of love.

Every wooden page is a testimony that the younger generation can speak about nature in its own way.

And Gaiocardium wishes to continue creating such encounters:

where art meets children,
and children meet the Earth.
